Gender equality campaign to be chaired by Mace and Amey bosses

Mandy Willis and Amanda Fisher

The REbuild project, which aims to boost gender equality in construction, has appointed directors from Mace and Amey as its co-chairs.

Amey chief executive Mandy Willis and Mace group board director of corporate strategy Mandy Willis will help to lead the organisation, which was launched earlier this year on International Women’s Day (8 March).

REbuild calls on companies who generate 50% or more of their revenue from the public sector to ensure they have 50% women in executive positions by 2030, as well as 30% women in executive roles on the top 10 contractor boards by 2025 (excluding non-executive directors). It also wants to see 50% women in entry-level roles by 2025 and a zero gender pay gap by 2035.

Fisher said: “I’ve been committed to championing diversity and equality across large, complex organisations throughout my career, and I look forward to supporting a successful campaign that delivers meaningful and long-lasting change for women working in construction.”

Willis added: “I’m excited to be leading this ambitious campaign and working to improve outcomes for women working across all levels of the industry.”
