A housing association has invited bids from offsite manufacturers to build hundreds of factory-built homes in a deal worth around £50m.
Wolverhampton-based housing association Bromford said it wanted to establish a framework for the supply of offsite homes as alternatives to traditional housebuilding methods for a variety of sites ranging from small to large.
The framework will involve light-gauge steel frame and cross-laminated timber homes.
Bromford aims to deliver 50 offsite homes in the first year of the deal, followed by 100-200 homes in years two and three. The estimated value of the contract will be £7m in year one, and up to £50m in year three.
Under the award criteria a weighting of 40% has been given to quality and technical merit and 60% to price.
The deadline for requests to participate is 20 May.
